Tori Elmore grew up in Wytheville, VA, running track and cross country, backpacking the nearby Appalachian Trail, and playing the saxophone in her high school marching band. She earned a mechanical engineering degree from Virginia Tech in 2009, and shortly thereafter rediscovered a love for athletic competition by way of flat track roller derby. She brought her skates to Houston in 2016, where she became a Texas All-Star and tied a sport record for most points in one jam.

Sensing a growing desire for a new athletic challenge following the pandemic, Tori discovered the Houston Energy and felt sudden joy in the knowledge that she, an avid football enthusiast in her mid-thirties, could actually play the sport she watches every Sunday. She tried out for the team in 2023 and currently lines up at offensive tackle and defensive end. A lifelong Carolina Panthers fan, she proudly wears number 89 whether wearing skates or cleats.

When not giving and collecting new bruises, Tori can be found at home with her fiancée and their family of dogs and cats.
