The Houston Energy defeated the Austin Outlaws 42-14 at House Park Stadium in Austin, Texas on Saturday, June 15. Led by a dominant performance on the ground, Brook Wilson carried the rock for 205 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Dominique McDougle would get the scoring started for the Energy with a 1-yard bulldozing run in the first quarter. After that, Wilson went to work with touchdown runs of 37, 54, 14, and 19 yards. She would average 16.2 yards per carry in the game. Amirra “Rocket” Parker would add a touchdown run of 9 yards before the night was over.
The defense had another strong showing. The defensive line was suffocating, led by Danielle “Grown” Smock (2.5 tackles for loss), Jay Boudreaux (1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sack), Alaja Butler (0.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack), and Kendrea “Woo” Hampton (9 tackles, 0.5 sack). Shannon “Hammerhead” Foreman added an interception.
The most memorable moment of the night came when long-time veteran offensive lineman and captain Kathryn Chapman took a handoff for a 2 point conversion for the first points of her career.
With the win, Houston finishes the season 4-2. They fall just short of the 2024 WFA Pro Playoffs. They aim to build upon the success they’ve had this year to make a run to Canton for the WFA Championship in 2025.
