The 2025 WFA schedule has officially been released, and the Houston Energy look forward to a stellar year as they enter their 25th season. The Energy season will kickoff May 3 as they travel to Dallas to take on the Dallas Elite Mustangs.
This year’s schedule features five WFA PRO matchups (Dallas Elite Mustangs twice, Nebraska Pride, Cali War, Mile High Blaze), and one Division 2 opponent (Austin Outlaws). The games against the War and Elite Mustangs will be televised on either For The Fans Live or Women’s Sports Network, pending WFA announcement.
Returning Talent
The Energy return 4 first team All-Americans in OL Jessica Rivas, SS Kelsey West, OL/DT Datiana Sikahema, and RB Suzie Garrett. They also bring back 4 second team All-Americans in WRs Amirra “Rocket” Parker and Ashley Robinson, QB Carol Maresh, and DB Ariele Adams. In addition, second team All-American QB Des Hernandez transfers in from the Dallas Elite Mustangs.
The 2025 Calendar
The Energy season will start with a road trip to Dallas to battle the Elite Mustangs. They will look to continue their dominance over their PRO division in-state rival with the Houston Energy boasting an impressive 7-0 record over the teams’ six-year history of competition.
The team’s home opener is the following Saturday, May 10 against the Austin Outlaws. The Energy defeated Austin twice last season and haven’t lost to the Outlaws since 2017.
On May 17, Houston travels to Omaha to meet the Nebraska Pride on the road. This season marks the Pride’s WFA PRO debut after spending the previous three seasons in Division 2. The Pride defeated the Palm Beach Coyotes to take the Division 2 crown last year in Canton, OH at the NFL Hall of Fame. This will be the second ever meeting of the two teams, with the first resulting in a 30-7 victory for the Energy in 2022.
After a bye week, the Cali War roll into town on May 31 for a televised WFA PRO showdown. The Energy look to get back at Cali after a road loss last year ultimately kept them out of the playoffs.
Their final road trip of the season takes them to Denver to face the Mile High Blaze on June 7 in their fourth WFA PRO matchup. The two programs haven’t met since 2022 when Mile High eliminated Houston from the first round of the playoffs.
The regular season ends with the Dallas Elite Mustangs coming to Houston on June 14.
