The Houston Energy (2-0) defeated the Austin Outlaws (0-2) 57-0 in their 2025 home opener at Dement Field on Saturday, May 10th. Ash Robinson scored 4 touchdowns in the game, becoming the second Energy player to do so this season.
The Energy offense started strong with Carol Maresh connecting with Amirra “Rocket” Parker for a 64-yard touchdown. Houston would then do damage on the ground with rushing touchdowns from Robinson, Suzie Garrett, and Dominique McDougle.
Robinson would book-end halftime with a pair of scores. She started with a 38-yard touchdown reception from Maresh as time expired in the first half putting the Energy up 35-0. Robinson would then take a handoff 50-yards to the endzone on the first play from scrimmage after halftime.
In the final quarter, Si’cah Smith would find the end zone for the first time this season on a 29-yard rush, and Robinson would flash one more time with a 40-yard catch and run from Destinee Hernandez.
The Energy defense had another strong performance pitching a shutout and recording 8 tackles for loss. Ellen Johnson led all defenders in the that category with 1.5.
The arial attack produced 2 100-yard receivers with Rocket totaling 122 yards and Robinson 100. Maresh and Hernandez would throw for 166 and 85 yards respectively, and McDougle would lead all rushers for the second week in a row with 42 yards on 5 carries.
Houston travels to Omaha, NE next week to take on the Nebraska Pride (1-1) on Saturday, May 17th.
They look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2019.
