Rocket Parker stole the spotlight as the Houston Energy opened their 2026 season with a commanding road victory over the Zydeco Spice in Lafayette, Louisiana on April 25.
Parker finished with more than 100 receiving yards and accounted for two touchdowns — one on the ground and one through the air, fueling an efficient Houston offense that controlled tempo throughout the game. The Energy mixed sustained drives with timely big plays, while the defense produced key stops that halted the Spice offensive front.
The win adds another chapter to Houston’s long-running dominance over the Spice and gives the Energy early-season momentum. Houston now heads home for the first game of a three-game homestand and will face conference rival the Minnesota Vixen next. The Vixen, coming off a win this week over the defending champions, the St. Louis Slam, arrive in Houston expecting a tough matchup against a team that began the season with a decisive road victory.
